	A Breath of Spring! A Celebration of Art and Floral Design Presented by the Elected Artists of the Lyme Art Association and the Old Lyme Duck River Garden Club: A Breath of Spring!, an event that is featured during the Annual Elected Artists Exhibition. Celebrate the Change of the Season and New Beginnings at the Lyme Art Association's Annual Elected Artists Exhibition The Lyme Art Association has several exciting and new events planned in conjunction with the Annual Elected Artists Exhibition May 2 through June 21, 2008. Conversations Hosts LAA President Barbara Lussier LymeLine editor Olwen Logan interviews Lyme Art Association President Barbara Lussier in a Conversations program to be aired April 14 and 28 on Old Lyme's Comcast Cable Public Access Channel 14. Four Day Workshop with One of Connecticut's Most Recognized Pastel Artists Frank Federico invites all artists to come join him in capturing the poetic beauty of southeastern Connecticut's rivers, marshes and countryside—that is the primary goal of his four day workshop. Pastels are the dominant medium, but oils will guide in the magical world of plein air painting. Instruction and critiques each day. Renowned Artists to Jury LAA's Summer Painting & Sculpture Exhibition Celebrating the joy of summer, the Lyme Art Association presents the Summer Painting & Sculpture Exhibition and invites all artist members to submit their work for this special exhibition, to be juried by talented artists David A. Leffel and Sherrie McGraw. Drawing on Tradition at LAA with Andrea Fenn Andrea Fenn will conduct "Drawing on Tradition," an introductory class presented in a relaxed and non-competitive atmosphere at the Lyme Art Association. Photography for Plein Air Painters - Jerry Reed Jerry Reed, a master giclée printer, will provide a free program for LAA members on May 10, from 10 a.m. until noon. As Jerry explains, “many painters while busily painting one scene, hastening to capture the changing light, may see another scene that they would like to paint later. On such occasions, artists take a picture with a digital camera, to refer to later." Lyme Art Association Now Offers Great Gathering Space Thinking about having a party? Looking for a venue for your wedding reception? Does your company need a soothing environment in which to host clientele or to hold a workshop or annual meeting? The galleries of the Lyme Art Association offer the perfect space to host your gathering, whether small or large. Artists Discuss Origins of Open Air Painting in Italy at LAA Artists Maddine Insalaco and Joe Vinson will offer a slide show and lecture on the historic origins of open air painting in Italy on Friday, April 4 at 5:30 p.m. at Lyme Art Association. Zufar Bikbov Exhibits at Lyme Art Association Russian-born artist Zufar Bikbov is exhibiting his paintings at "The 16th Annual Associate Artist's Show" at the Lyme Art Association, at 90 Lyme Street, Old Lyme, on view through April 19. Lyme Art Association Students Get Together for Gesture Drawing A small group of students gather each week at the Lyme Art Association for one of the Association’s newest classes, Gesture Drawing. Lyme Art Association Seeks Volunteers The LAA needs a lot of help this year with our upcoming events. Karen Winslow Glazes & Scumbles at LAA Karen Winslow will conduct "Elements of Still Life Painting 2 ~ Glazing & Scumbling," a workshop to help participants enhance color and create mystery in their paintings, on March 1 and 2 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Lyme Art Association Introduces New Associate Artist Member Lisa Jelleme-Miller Lyme Art Association is proud to introduce a new associate artist member Lisa Jelleme-Miller. Ms. Jelleme-Miller has three pieces in the current exhibition, the Midwinter Painting & Sculpture Exhibition & Sale, which is on view through February 23. Meet the Art Instructor – Hollis Dunlap Stays True Offers Two-Day Figure Painting Workshop, February 16 & 17 Lyme Art Association Instructor Hollis Dunlap espouses staying true to what you believe in and what you like in the first place, in art and in life. And he sees natural connections between himself and the Lyme Art Association. On Saturday and Sunday, February 16 and 17, Dunlap will conduct a workshop in Figure Painting. Mother and Son, Shirley Cean Youngs and Trenton Forster Youngs, Exhibit at Lyme Art Association Renowned Impressionist painters Shirley Cean Youngs and Trenton Forster Youngs, both Elected Artists at Lyme Art Association, are currently showing their work at the LAA gallery. Lyme Art Association Presents Midwinter Painting & Sculpture Art Exhibition The Lyme Art Association will present an exhibition celebrating Still Life, Figurative, and other subject matter captured on canvas and through sculpture on view from January 12 through February 23, 2008 with an opening night reception on Friday, January 11 from 6-8 pm open and free to the public. Annual Summer Exhibition Now on View The Lyme Art Association will present their annual summer exhibition Lyme Light which will be on view from July 13 through September 8, 2007 with a grand opening from 6-8pm on Friday, July 13th. Nearly 300 works of art will be exhibited and for sale. Animals & Artists Paint Out July 28th The Lyme Art Association is inviting artists from around the state of Connecticut to join in on the fun of painting, sketching, and sculpting domestic farm animals. Cityscapes Exhibition & Sale: Exploring the architecture and life of town & city The Lyme Art Association has long been a leader in Connecticut for showing the cream of the crop in pastoral landscape: hardly surprising since Old Lyme is the cradle of American Impressionism. This summer, for the first time, the Lyme Art Association is exploring the exciting views and scenes of the city. Now on view at the Lyme Art Association: The Trail of the CT Impressionists The Lyme Art Association will present The Trail of Ct Impressionists which will be on view from May 4 through July 7, 2007 pm open and free to the public. Nearly 300 works of art will be exhibited and for sale. A Special Showcase of Works at the Lyme Art Association: The Salmagundi Art Club of New York City Now on Exhibit through June 9th, 2007 "The show is a unique compilation of paintings that would interest any art collector" states Yves Parent, Elected Artist Member of the LAA and Exhibition Manager of this special collaboration. Lyme Art Association Presents Two Special Exhibitions "The Trail of Ct Impressionists" & A Selection of Works by the Salmagundi Art Club of New York The Lyme Art Association will present The Trail of Ct Impressionists which will be on view from May 4 through July 7, 2007 with an opening night reception on Friday, May 4th, from 6-8 pm open and free to the public. Nearly 300 works of art will be exhibited and for sale. Lyme Art Association Presents The 15th Annual Associate Artist's Show The Lyme Art Association will present "The 15th Annual Associate Artist's Show" on view through March 11, with an opening night reception on Friday, January 12, from 6-8 pm open and free to the public. Nearly 250 works of art will be exhibited and for sale. Give the Gift of Art Lessons Jumpstart your painting with one of New England's most recognized artists Karen Winslow for a weekend workshop that celebrates the training of old masters! Lyme Art Association Presents "Interiors" Art Exhibition The Lyme Art Association will present "Interiors" - An Exhibition Celebrating Still Life, Figurative, and Other Images of Life Indoors on view from February 16 through March 17, 2007 with an opening night reception on Friday, February 16 from 6-8 pm open and free to the public. Water, Water Everywhere Watercolor Master Mel Stabin scheduled to teach at the Lyme Art Association in Old Lyme, CT in 2007. Mel Stabin's watercolor workshop on March 5-9, 2007 will reflect the title of his first book, Watercolor: Simple, Fast, and Focused. Who Will Paint Your Portrait? The Lyme Art Association will exhibit "Faces of Spring 2007" a juried exhibition of leading portrait artists presented by the Connecticut Society of Portrait Artists. This is exhibition will be juried by Nationally Recognized Portrait Artist Aaron Shikler, and will run from March 23-April 22, 2007. First Annual Snow Ball a Success The galleries were decorated with lanterns and masked artists and art enthusiasts much like the scene from Harry L. Hoffman's painting of the Harvest Moon Walk, which hangs at the Florence Griswold Museum next door to the Lyme Art Association. Photos from the 2007 Snow Ball are now available. Un-Mask Your Creativity at The Lyme Art Associations First Annual Snow Ball The Lyme Art Association has looked back in time to their marvelous history as an art colony, when masked, costumed parties were held by the artists in the 1920's. The Lyme Art Association will hold for its members and the public their first annual Snow Ball, February 10, 2007 at the Lyme Art Association to recreate this historical event. Proposed Floor Plans Available We have posted for your review the drawings for proposed development to the Lyme Art Association building as they were presented to the attendees of the Annual Membership Meeting in October, 2006. View proposed floor plans and more information here. July 14 through September 9, the Lyme Art Association will present “Lyme Light”, its annual summer exhibition and sale of paintings. The show will include a special exhibition of paintings by the The Guild of Boston Artists in the Association’s Goodman Gallery. An opening reception, free to the public, is scheduled for Friday July 14 from 6 - 8 pm with music and refreshments.
