As Jerry explains, “many painters while busily painting one scene, hastening to capture the changing light, may see another scene that they would like to paint later. Mel Stabin's watercolor workshop on March 5-9, 2007 will reflect the title of his first book, Watercolor: Simple, Fast, and Focused.

The Lyme Art Association will exhibit "Faces of Spring 2007" a juried exhibition of leading portrait artists presented by the Connecticut Society of Portrait Artists. This is exhibition will be juried by Nationally Recognized Portrait Artist Aaron Shikler, and will run from March 23-April 22, 2007.

The galleries were decorated with lanterns and masked artists and art enthusiasts much like the scene from Harry L. Hoffman's painting of the Harvest Moon Walk, which hangs at the Florence Griswold Museum next door to the Lyme Art Association. Photos from the 2007 Snow Ball are now available. The Lyme Art Association has looked back in time to their marvelous history as an art colony, when masked, costumed parties were held by the artists in the 1920's. The Lyme Art Association will hold for its members and the public their first annual Snow Ball, February 10, 2007 at the Lyme Art Association to recreate this historical event.
