Opening March 10 Lyme Art Association to Present Annual “Colors of Spring” Member Exhibition Featuring Works By Elected Artists And Special Workshop Programs.

The Lyme Art Association, at 90 Lyme Street, Old Lyme Connecticut, will present a special exhibition entitled “Colors of Spring” showcasing works by its member artists. An opening night reception is planned for Friday, March 10 from 6-8 pm and is free to the public. Nearly 300 works of art will be exhibited and for sale. The exhibition will be on view through April 22.

“As winter begins to fade, artists feel renewed and inspired,” states Bob Potter , Executive Director of the Lyme Art Association. “This juried exhibition of representational art features works in oil, pastel, watercolor, and sculpture and promises something special for every art lover.”

“The exhibition will feature works by the Association’s Elected artists in three galleries. Many of this esteemed group of award winning artists includes artists who work professionally and exhibit in leading galleries in New England,” adds Mr. Potter. “The Lyme Art Association was established by members of the Old Lyme Art Colony more than 100 years ago and the Elected Artists represent our link to these founding members.”

Also on view will be a special exhibition of small works by Associate Artists in the Goodman Gallery of the Lyme Art Association. “This juried ‘show within a show’ presents a very selective group of small works, predominately in oil, that promises to be an exciting exhibition for artists and visitors,” states Kathy Simmons, Chairperson for the “Colors of Spring” exhibition.
