Gabor Svagrik

Gabor Svagrik was born in Hungary Europe in 1970. His family immigrated to the states in 1983 to Illinois. He studied at the American Academy of Art from 1989 to 1992. He was fortunate to study with nationally recognized watercolorist Irving Shapiro at the school, where he stressed the students about composition, design and drawing. His grandmother was also a big influence on him because she was a painter also and it is in her studio where he saw his first original painting and the smell of oil paint still reminds him of her. Gabor also took two years of life drawing and illustration. Gabor's travels have taken him too many states across the west. The reason the he love the west is the big open spaces and big mountains where one can still find untouched places. www.svagrikfineart.com
