Katherine Simmons holds a Fine Arts Degree from Massachusetts College of Art and completed postgraduate studies at Paier College of Art and the University of Hartford. She rounded out her formal training in master classes with oil painter Charles Sovek and pastelist Robert Scott Jackson.

Kathy and her work have recently been featured in American Artist, American Art Review, Connecticut Magazine, Glastonbury Life and The Pastel Journal. Her award-winning work is shown throughout New England and is seen in private, corporate and public collections. She is a juried, elected member of the Connecticut Plein Air Painters Society, Connecticut Women Artists, Lyme Art Association, Salmagundi Club and Oil Painters of America. She is a Signature Member of the Oil Pastel Society.
