Janice Di Battista

Janice has a BFA Magna Cum Laude from the University of Connecticut with Special Distinction in Painting. For eleven years she was Director of Art at the Williams School in New London, Connecticut. Her other teaching experiences include: the Lyman Allyn Museum and a grant from the CT Commission on the Arts to teach watercolor workshops in the Groton School System.

She has been selected for numerous one-woman shows in galleries and in the Lyman Allyn Museum. Invitational exhibits include the Slater Museum, Newport Museum, Wadsworth Atheneum (group shows), and the John Slade Ely House (a two woman show). Her work has been selected for juried shows regionally and in New York. She has received many awards including most recently at the following shows: the Slater Museum, Connecticut Artists, Essex Art Association, Mystic Art Association, New Britain Museum of American Art, Connecticut Woman Artists, Shoreline Alliance, Studio 53, best in show for acrylics in the Glastonbury Outdoor Show, and the best in show for landscape in the Mystic Outdoor Show. Her work has been selected to show in the Connecticut Legislature.

She is in private and corporate collections in the USA and Europe.

She is a member of the American Society of Marine Artists and an elected member of the following: Lyme Art Association, Mystic Art Association, Connecticut Watercolor Society, Connecticut Woman Artists, New Haven Paint and Clay Club, Monotype Guild of New England, Monotypes Today, Vanguard Group, Essex Art Association, and the Connecticut Academy of Fine Art.
