Judith Chapman

"The Gift ", Oil

Watercolor and oil painter, Judith Chapman was born in 1943 in Hartford, CT. She grew up in Newington,CT and spent summers at Point O' Woods beach colony in Old Lyme. Judith earned a BFA degree, in a 5 year program, from the Hartford Art School in Connecticut. She has since continued her studies with local and nationally known artists and at the Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts. She has lived and studied in California, Cape Cod and Vermont

She enjoys painting a variety of subject matter and her work is in private collections and in the palette collection of the U.S. Griswold Museum in Old Lyme. Judith has shown work at the Lyme Art Association, where she has been an active member for over 7 years, the Garvin Gallery, The Cooley Gallery, the Erickson Davis Gallery and the Lyme Academy Gallery, as well as others in New England and California.
