Painting Workshops with Karen Winslow

All of my classes are learning classes ~ process oriented not project oriented. If you are a beginner, don't expect to paint a masterpiece, but do expect to learn how to approach doing a painting.what to look for, how to begin, how to build and develop form and how to edit. Learning to paint and draw well is a lifelong ambition. It takes time and plenty of practice. It involves learning to solve a visual problem and translating what you see into paint. My approach to teaching gives the artist a solid foundation, so that he/she will continue painting and learning long after the workshop ends. My hope is to give each student a springboard which she/he can use to explore composition and express their own unique voice.

Suitable for all levels. Oils, pastels and watercolors preferred. All work is from life (not photographs).
