Ecorché: Anatomy through Drawing & Sculpture - Sue ChismDescription: Ecorché literally means “flayed” or without skin. In this 12 week course students will create a clay skeleton and add muscles to it to learn their origins and insertions, basic shapes and interactions with other muscles. Old Master drawings will also be copied and flayed so the student can observe what anatomical landmarks were important to the Masters. A live model will be used towards the end of the course so students can apply their knowledge of anatomy to observation from life. Dates: Thursdays, 6-9pm, April 3 - May 29 Fees: Members $285 for 9 week course, Nonmember $315 for the 9 week course Related LinksInstructor Bio: Sue Chism has a BFA in sculpture from the Lyme Academy of Fine Arts where she had studied with and worked for the accomplished sculptors Don Gale and Daniel Edwards.
