A Traditional Approach to Life Drawing - Andrea FennDescription: Why draw the human figure? The short answer is, if you can draw the human body, you can draw anything. How to start a figure drawing, including concepts of proportion, volume, light versus shade, and basic anatomy will be incorporated into these sessions, as well as strategies and ideas which can be applied in the process of drawing the model. The importance of movement and rhythm, line quality and modeling techniques will also be presented. Dates: Wednesdays, 9am-12pm, June 6-August 8 Fees: (Members) $360 for 10 week course, (Nonmembers) $390 for 10 week course Related LinksInstructor Bio: Andrea Cianci Fenn received her B.F.A. in painting in 2005 from the Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts, Old Lyme, Connecticut. Her artistic discipline in representational figure drawing and portraiture was further developed at the Academy, having studied with Deane G. Keller, Peter Zallinger and Jon DeMartin. Continuing to work in her Farmington studio supported by exhibition and commission, Andrea's primary historical inspirations have been William Bouguereau and John Singer Sargent. Affiliations include Connecticut Society of Portrait Artists, Connecticut Women Artists, Inc. Farmington Valley Arts Center, Essex Art Association, and membership in The American Society of Portrait Artists.
